MIM E-NEWS

15 JUNE 2009

From the Desk of the CEO...

Greetings from Malaysian Institute of Management!

In facing the constant changing environment, everyone in our own respective scope of areas and responsibilities need to make the best out of this current trough, at the same time continuing to upgrade our skills, knowledge and competencies to stay competitive and productive.

In response to that, the Institute has organised the MIM High Performance Management Forum themed Engaging and Retraining Your People through Learning & Development, on 2nd June 2009. The purpose of the forum was to share key concerns, trends and factors influencing the present and future human capital. We also shared our views on how to manage human capital strategically during these tough times as well as the importance of the continuous development of organisational capital and human capital competence through interviews with The Star Online.

To help enhance your human capital with the required skills and tools to achieve your organisation's strategic objectives, MIM has developed the Work Based Diploma in Management Programme. This integrated programme focusing on learning that was gained from past work experience and the development of new learning in the form of work based projects focusing on the learner's current work role.

MIM is hosting the 25th Tunku Abdul Rahman Lecture (TARL) and dinner on Wednesday, 5th August 2009 at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This year's guest speaker is DYTM Raja Muda Perak, Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah Ibni Sultan Azlan Muhibuddin Shah, who will deliver on the topic of Imbued with Integrity, Endowed with Ethics: Foundation for Managing Malaysia through Enlightened, Value-driven Leadership.

TARL was inaugurated in 1970 to commemorate the premiership of Malaysia's first Prime Minister, the late YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. It has since evolved into an anticipated lecture series with distinguished speakers renowned for their teaching and practice of management leadership. Be part of the 25th MIM TARL and join us for an evening of corporate networking.

We have more events, highlights and management initiatives coming your way. Until then, we wish you all the success.
